For healthcare professionals — reference only. This page is a brief summary, not medical advice and not a substitute for official labeling or clinical judgement. Always verify before prescribing or dispensing.
Overview
Both drugs have been associated with QT interval prolongation, alfuzosin modestly and beta-agonists mainly at high doses via hypokalemia and tachycardia. Combined use may add to arrhythmia risk, particularly with systemic exposure, electrolyte disturbances or other QT-prolonging factors.
Mechanism of action
Additive QT prolongation, with beta-agonist-induced hypokalemia as a contributing factor.
Clinical management
Monitor ECG and serum potassium in patients with QT risk factors, and avoid excessive levosalbutamol dosing.
