Résumé
Phenoxybenzamine is a long-acting alpha-blocker that causes vasodilation and orthostatic hypotension. With aldesleukin, which causes hypotension from capillary leak, blood pressure may fall severely.
Ce que signifie cette interaction, en termes simples
Aldesleukin and Phenoxybenzamine can affect each other. The combination is often manageable, but it may need a change of dose, a change of timing, or extra checks while both are taken.
Pourquoi elle survient
Additive pharmacodynamic hypotension from irreversible alpha-adrenergic blockade and aldesleukin-induced vasodilation.
Conduite à tenir
Monitor blood pressure closely during aldesleukin therapy and reduce or hold phenoxybenzamine if hypotension develops. Because its effect is long-lasting, plan dose changes ahead of treatment cycles.
