Résumé
Ascorbic acid, and citrate in general, can increase gastrointestinal absorption of aluminum from aluminum-containing antacids. This is mainly relevant in patients with renal impairment, in whom aluminum accumulates and may cause toxicity such as bone disease or encephalopathy.
