यह कैसे काम करती है
Teduglutide is an analog of human GLP-2. It binds GLP-2 receptors on intestinal enteroendocrine cells, subepithelial myofibroblasts and enteric neurons, causing local release of IGF-1, nitric oxide and keratinocyte growth factor.

- Unknown Limited case reports show no drug-associated risk of major birth defects or adverse outcomes; no embryo-fetal effects in rats and rabbits.

- Acceleration of neoplastic growth: potential for hyperplasia and neoplasia; polyps reported. Discontinue if GI malignancy develops. Colonoscopy and endoscopy needed before and during treatment.
- Intestinal obstruction has been reported; temporarily discontinue if it develops.
- Biliary and pancreatic disease (cholecystitis, cholangitis, cholelithiasis, pancreatitis): monitor bilirubin, alkaline phosphatase, lipase and amylase every 6 months.
