Как действует
Mu-opioid receptor agonist, also a delta opioid receptor antagonist and a kappa opioid receptor agonist. In animals it interacts with opioid receptors in the gut.

IBS-D: 100 mg orally twice daily with food

- Unknown No human studies; no birth defects in rats or rabbits at high exposures. EU label: avoid in pregnancy as a precaution.

- Unknown No human data; it passes into rat milk. EU label: decide whether to stop breastfeeding or treatment. LactMed: it has opioid activity, so an alternative is preferred, especially with a newborn or preterm infant.

- Patients without a gallbladder
- Known or suspected biliary duct obstruction, or sphincter of Oddi disease or dysfunction
- Alcoholism, alcohol abuse or addiction, or more than 3 alcoholic beverages per day
Кому следует соблюдать осторожность
- Pancreatitis, including fatal cases, mainly in patients without a gallbladder; most serious cases within a week of starting. Evaluate alcohol intake; stop immediately if symptoms occur.
- Sphincter of Oddi spasm; do not restart in patients who developed it or biliary duct obstruction.
- Serious hypersensitivity reactions including anaphylaxis, some after the first one or two doses.
