Summary

Benperidol is a potent butyrophenone antipsychotic, and diphenhydramine adds sedation and anticholinergic effects. Together they may cause excessive drowsiness, confusion and anticholinergic toxicity. Diphenhydramine is sometimes used to treat antipsychotic extrapyramidal effects, so the combination may be deliberate.
