Intended use
MediHelp is not placed on the market as a medical device and does not carry a CE mark as a medical device. Its intended purpose is general drug reference and educational information for healthcare professionals and students: official product information, published guidance, and reference calculations shown with their formula and source so you can verify them. It is not intended to diagnose, prevent, monitor, treat or alleviate disease in an individual patient, and it does not give patient-specific treatment directives.
For healthcare professionals
MediHelp is intended for pharmacists, physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals, and for students working under supervision. It is not intended for patients to diagnose or treat themselves. It does not replace your professional judgement, the official product information or local guidelines. Check doses, interactions and contraindications against the current official label before you dispense or prescribe. If you are not a healthcare professional, do not use MediHelp to decide on your own or anyone else's treatment: ask a doctor or pharmacist.
Sources and accuracy
Drug information is based on official product information, such as FDA labels (DailyMed / openFDA) and EMA product information, and on published guidance from bodies such as NICE and WHO. The MediHelp clinical team reviews the content, but it can contain errors or lag behind recent label changes, and brand names, approved uses and doses differ between countries. AI answers can be wrong or incomplete; they show their references so you can check them. MediHelp is independent: it is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by the FDA, the EMA, the MHRA, the Egyptian Drug Authority, NICE, WHO or any pharmaceutical company. Brand names belong to their owners.
European Union: medical device status
Under Regulation (EU) 2017/745, MediHelp is not placed on the market as a medical device and does not carry a CE mark as a medical device. Its intended purpose is the one described under "Intended use" above, and it does not give patient-specific treatment directives.
United States: FDA
MediHelp is designed to meet the criteria for clinical decision support software that is not a device under section 520(o)(1)(E) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, as described in the FDA guidance "Clinical Decision Support Software" (29 January 2026). It is intended for healthcare professionals, not for patients or caregivers. It does not acquire, process or analyse medical images or signals; the prescription reader reads only the text of a prescription. It displays medical information such as drug labels and published guidelines, supports and does not replace the professional's own recommendation, and shows its sources and, for calculations, the formula and inputs, so that the professional can independently review the basis instead of relying primarily on the software. It is not intended for time-critical or emergency decisions. MediHelp has not been cleared or approved by the FDA.
United States: HIPAA
Under HIPAA, a covered entity is a health plan, a health care clearinghouse, or a health care provider that transmits health information electronically in connection with a transaction for which HHS has adopted a standard (such as claims). MediHelp is none of these. MediHelp is not designed to receive, store or transmit protected health information (PHI), and we do not enter into business associate agreements. Do not enter patient names, dates of birth, medical record numbers, addresses, contact details or any other identifiers, and cover identifiers before you photograph a prescription.
United Kingdom
MediHelp is not registered with the MHRA as a medical device under the UK Medical Devices Regulations 2002 and is not UKCA- or CE-marked as a medical device. Its intended purpose is the same as in the European Union section: general drug reference and educational information for healthcare professionals, with formulas and sources shown for verification, and no patient-specific treatment directives. In the UK, also check the BNF, NICE guidance and your local formulary.
Egypt
MediHelp is not registered with the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) as a medical device. Egyptian brand names and prices are shown for reference and can differ from the current EDA registration and from the pack in your hand; check the package insert.
Other countries
MediHelp is not registered as a medical device with any regulator. Follow the product information and the professional rules that apply where you practise.
Emergencies
MediHelp is not an emergency service. In a medical emergency, call your local emergency number or a poison control centre.
Liability
MediHelp is provided as a reference. To the extent the law allows, MediHelp is not liable for clinical decisions made on the basis of its content. Nothing in this notice limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
