How to delete your account
In the MediHelp app (iPhone, iPad and Android)
- Open the MediHelp app and sign in.
- Tap “Settings” in the bottom bar.
- Tap “Profile Information”.
- Scroll down to “Danger zone” and tap “Delete Account”.
- Tap “Delete” to confirm. If you signed up with e-mail and a password, enter your password; if you use Google or Apple, confirm with that account.
On the website
- Sign in on medihelpapp.com.
- Open “Settings”.
- Under “Your data & account”, choose “Delete account”.
- Enter your password if you are asked for it, then choose “Delete my account”.
Go to Settings (sign-in required)
By e-mail, if you can't sign in
Write to support@medihelpapp.com from the e-mail address of your MediHelp account, with the subject “Delete my account”. Tell us how you sign in (e-mail, Google, Apple or phone number). We may ask you to confirm that the account is yours, and we reply within one month at the latest.
E-mail support
What happens after you ask
Your account is deactivated straight away: you are signed out on every device, notifications stop and the account can no longer be used. 30 days later your personal data is permanently erased or anonymised. If you change your mind within those 30 days, write to support and we can restore the account. Copies in our encrypted backups are overwritten within about 6 weeks.
Sign in with Apple or Google
If you use Sign in with Apple, the app asks you to confirm with Apple when you delete your account, and MediHelp then revokes its access to your Apple ID. If you delete your account on the website or by e-mail, you can also remove MediHelp yourself in your Apple ID settings under Sign in with Apple. For every sign-in method, your sign-in record with our authentication provider (Firebase) is deleted when the account is erased.
What is deleted
- Your account and profile: name, e-mail address, phone number, birthday, job title, university, city, about text, LinkedIn link and profile photos.
- Patient profiles, lab reports, prescriptions you entered with their photos, and supplement follow-ups.
- MediMate conversations and other AI chat history.
- Saved cases and recently viewed items.
- Professional verification requests and the licence or ID documents you uploaded.
- Notifications, push-notification device tokens, e-mail preferences and e-mail logs.
- Your linked Google and Apple sign-in identities, and per-account usage statistics.
What is kept, and for how long
- Purchase, subscription and payment records (App Store, Google Play and website payments): kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires, with your name, e-mail, phone number, address and card-holder details removed.
- Usage events, such as pages and features opened: kept only in anonymised form, no longer linked to you. The IP address and user agent recorded with each event are deleted 90 days after the event.
- Consent records: what you agreed to and when, without the IP address, as proof of consent.
- Free-trial records: one-way hashes (never the original values) of the e-mail, sign-in, phone and device identifiers that used a free trial, kept for up to 3 years only to prevent repeated free trials.
- Encrypted backups: overwritten within about 6 weeks.
