Summary

Nefazodone inhibits serotonin reuptake, which can impair platelet aggregation. Together with ketorolac, the risk of bleeding, notably upper gastrointestinal bleeding, may be higher, though nefazodone's serotonergic effect is weaker than SSRIs.

What this interaction means in plain words

Ketorolac and Nefazodone can affect each other. The combination is often manageable, but it may need a change of dose, a change of timing, or extra checks while both are taken.

Evidence level: Low

Why it happens

Additive platelet dysfunction from serotonin reuptake inhibition and COX-1 inhibition, plus NSAID mucosal injury.

What to do

Monitor for GI bleeding and consider gastroprotection in at-risk patients. Keep ketorolac duration short.
