Complicated Intra-abdominal Infections: 1.5 g IV q8hr x4-14 days

- Safe No human data; animal studies showed no malformations. Decades of cephalosporin data show no link to birth defects or miscarriage. Use when needed for serious infections.
- Allaitement
- Safe No milk data. LactMed: acceptable in nursing mothers, as cephalosporins are not expected to harm breastfed infants; watch for loose stools or thrush.
