Résumé
Probenecid reduces the renal tubular secretion of indometacin, the active metabolite of acemetacin, raising its levels. This can increase NSAID adverse effects such as GI bleeding and renal impairment.
Ce que signifie cette interaction, en termes simples
Acemetacin and Probenecid can affect each other. The combination is often manageable, but it may need a change of dose, a change of timing, or extra checks while both are taken.
Pourquoi elle survient
Probenecid inhibits OAT-mediated renal tubular secretion of acemetacin and its active metabolite indometacin.
Conduite à tenir
Monitor for NSAID toxicity (GI symptoms, renal function) and use the lowest effective acemetacin dose.
