Résumé
Probenecid substantially increases and prolongs ketorolac exposure, raising the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding, renal toxicity and other dose-related adverse effects. Ketorolac labeling contraindicates this combination.
Ce que signifie cette interaction, en termes simples
Ketorolac and Probenecid are not normally used together. Taking them at the same time is expected to cause harm or make one of them unsafe, so a different medicine is usually chosen for one of the two.
Ketorolac belongs to Musculoskeletal; Probenecid belongs to Genitourinary.
Pourquoi elle survient
Probenecid inhibits renal tubular secretion of ketorolac via organic anion transporters, reducing its clearance.
