Résumé

Candesartan is a second angiotensin receptor blocker given on top of valsartan, which provides dual renin-angiotensin system blockade without added benefit. This raises the risk of hypotension, hyperkalemia and renal impairment, although the thiazide component partly offsets potassium retention.
