Résumé
The oral live attenuated cholera vaccine needs viable bacteria to colonize and stimulate immunity. Antibiotics active against V. cholerae could lower the immune response. Rifaximin has activity against many enteric bacteria and acts locally in the gut, where the vaccine strain must establish.
