Hogyan hat

The mechanism in multiple sclerosis is unknown. MMF activates the Nrf2 pathway (response to oxidative stress) and is a nicotinic acid receptor agonist in vitro.

Szokásos felnőttadag (alkalmazási előírás szerinti összefoglaló)

Relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis: starting dose 95 mg orally twice a day for 7 days, then maintenance 190 mg (two 95 mg capsules) orally twice a day.

Csak az első adagolási sor összefoglalója az alkalmazási előírás alapján; a teljes adagolási szakaszok az alkalmazásban találhatók.

Terhesség és szoptatás

Terhesség
Unknown Registry data for dimethyl fumarate (its prodrug) show no rise in birth defects or miscarriage; most exposures were in the 1st trimester. In animals, offspring survival, growth and behaviour were affected at clinically relevant doses. Use only if needed.
Szoptatás
Safe No direct data, but it is the active form of dimethyl fumarate: low milk levels and data in over 20 infants show no harm, so LactMed finds it acceptable, at least after 1 month of age. US label: weigh benefits. Monitor infant weight gain.
