Terhesség és szoptatás
- Terhesség
- Unsafe Injection: aminoglycosides can cause fetal harm; streptomycin has caused permanent congenital deafness. Use only for serious infections with drug-level monitoring. Inhaled form gives minimal absorption. Eye/ear drops: little absorbed; acceptable.
- Szoptatás
- Safe Poorly excreted into milk; infant blood levels are far below treatment levels. LactMed: acceptable; watch for diarrhoea, thrush or nappy rash. Inhaled tobramycin is compatible (respiratory experts); eye or ear drops pose little or no risk.
Jelentett mellékhatások
- Neurotoxicity
- Increased lacrimation
- Nephrotoxicity
- Itching and edema of eyelid
- Ototoxicity
Ellenjavallatok
- Documented hypersensitivity to any aminoglycoside or history of hypersensitivity or serious toxic reactions to aminoglycosides
Kinek kell óvatosnak lennie
- Monitor serum aminoglycoside concentrations if concurrent systemic aminoglycoside therapy is in progress
- May result in overgrowth of nonsusceptible organisms, including fungi
- Cross-allergenicity among aminoglycosides has been demonstrated
