Összefoglaló

Sodium bicarbonate alkalinizes urine, which ionizes salicylate and increases its renal excretion, lowering salicylate levels. This effect is used therapeutically in salicylate poisoning but can reduce the effect of anti-inflammatory aspirin doses. Antacid doses may also alter absorption slightly.

Mit jelent ez a kölcsönhatás közérthetően

Acetylsalicylic acid and Sodium bicarbonate can affect each other. The combination is often manageable, but it may need a change of dose, a change of timing, or extra checks while both are taken.

Acetylsalicylic acid belongs to Musculoskeletal; Sodium bicarbonate belongs to Gastrointestinal Tract.

Bizonyítékszint: High

Miért jön létre

Urinary alkalinization increases ionization of salicylic acid, reducing renal tubular reabsorption and increasing clearance.

Teendő

With chronic high-dose aspirin therapy, monitor clinical response or salicylate levels when starting or stopping regular bicarbonate. Consider non-alkalinizing alternatives for antacid use.
