Összefoglaló
Arsenic trioxide markedly prolongs the QT interval and can cause torsades de pointes, and amiodarone adds to this risk. Labeling advises against combining it with other QT-prolonging drugs.
Mit jelent ez a kölcsönhatás közérthetően
Amiodarone and Arsenic trioxide are not normally used together. Taking them at the same time is expected to cause harm or make one of them unsafe, so a different medicine is usually chosen for one of the two.
Amiodarone belongs to Cardiovascular; Arsenic trioxide belongs to Oncology.
Miért jön létre
Additive prolongation of cardiac repolarization.
Teendő
Avoid the combination and choose a non-QT-prolonging alternative to amiodarone. If it cannot be avoided, monitor ECG continuously or frequently and maintain potassium and magnesium.
