Összefoglaló

Linezolid is a reversible nonselective MAO inhibitor and amoxapine inhibits serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake. Together they can precipitate serotonin syndrome with agitation, hyperthermia, clonus and autonomic instability.

Mit jelent ez a kölcsönhatás közérthetően

Amoxapine and Linezolid are not normally used together. Taking them at the same time is expected to cause harm or make one of them unsafe, so a different medicine is usually chosen for one of the two.

Bizonyítékszint: Moderate

Miért jön létre

Additive serotonergic and noradrenergic effects from MAO inhibition plus reuptake inhibition.

Teendő

Avoid the combination and choose another antibiotic. If linezolid is essential, stop amoxapine and monitor closely for serotonin toxicity.
