Összefoglaló

Anastrozole works by lowering estrogen levels, and exogenous estrogen such as ethinyl estradiol opposes this effect. The combination undermines the therapeutic aim in hormone-receptor-positive breast cancer, and anastrozole is not intended for use in premenopausal women who might need contraception.

Mit jelent ez a kölcsönhatás közérthetően

Anastrozole and Desogestrel-ethinyl estradiol can interact in a way that may be serious. Using them together is sometimes necessary, but it needs a deliberate decision by the prescriber, a plan for monitoring, and clear advice on the warning signs to watch for.

Bizonyítékszint: Moderate

Miért jön létre

Pharmacodynamic antagonism: exogenous estrogen counteracts aromatase inhibition-induced estrogen suppression.
