Összefoglaló

Beta-blockers antagonize the bronchodilating effect of indacaterol and may provoke bronchospasm in patients with obstructive airway disease. Betaxolol is cardioselective, which lowers but does not remove this risk, and this applies to oral betaxolol or ophthalmic use with systemic absorption.

Mit jelent ez a kölcsönhatás közérthetően

Betaxolol and Indacaterol-glycopyrronium can interact in a way that may be serious. Using them together is sometimes necessary, but it needs a deliberate decision by the prescriber, a plan for monitoring, and clear advice on the warning signs to watch for.

Betaxolol belongs to Cardiovascular; Indacaterol-glycopyrronium belongs to Respiratory.

Bizonyítékszint: High

Miért jön létre

Pharmacodynamic antagonism at beta-2 adrenoceptors, with loss of cardioselectivity at higher doses.

Teendő

Avoid if possible; if a beta-blocker is required, use the lowest effective dose of a cardioselective agent and monitor lung function and symptoms. Watch for reduced bronchodilator response.
