Brimonidine labelling forbids use with MAO inhibitors, and procarbazine is a cytotoxic drug with weak MAO-inhibiting activity. Systemic absorption of the alpha-2 agonist could lead to unpredictable blood-pressure changes, and the effect on catecholamine handling is poorly characterised.

Brimonidine and Procarbazine are not normally used together. Taking them at the same time is expected to cause harm or make one of them unsafe, so a different medicine is usually chosen for one of the two.
