Összefoglaló
Ticlopidine can inhibit carbamazepine metabolism, raising its levels and causing dizziness, ataxia, diplopia or nausea. Carbamazepine induction may also lower ticlopidine exposure, and both drugs can cause blood dyscrasias.
Mit jelent ez a kölcsönhatás közérthetően
Carbamazepine and Ticlopidine can interact in a way that may be serious. Using them together is sometimes necessary, but it needs a deliberate decision by the prescriber, a plan for monitoring, and clear advice on the warning signs to watch for.
Carbamazepine belongs to Central Nervous System; Ticlopidine belongs to Cardiovascular.
Miért jön létre
Ticlopidine inhibits CYP-mediated carbamazepine metabolism, while carbamazepine induces enzymes that may lower ticlopidine levels.
Teendő
Monitor carbamazepine concentrations and adjust the dose when starting or stopping ticlopidine, and monitor blood counts regularly. Consider an alternative antiplatelet drug.
