Összefoglaló
Safinamide inhibits monoamine oxidase and so reduces serotonin breakdown, while cyclobenzaprine is a tricyclic-related muscle relaxant that inhibits serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake. Together this can precipitate serotonin syndrome, with agitation, hyperthermia, clonus and autonomic instability that may be fatal. Hypertensive reactions are also possible with tricyclic agents.

Cyclobenzaprine and Safinamide are not normally used together. Taking them at the same time is expected to cause harm or make one of them unsafe, so a different medicine is usually chosen for one of the two.
