Összefoglaló

Sorbitol has an osmotic laxative effect that can cause diarrhea and intestinal potassium loss, and deflazacort, a corticosteroid, can promote renal potassium excretion. Combined use may contribute to hypokalemia, mainly with repeated or large laxative doses.

Mit jelent ez a kölcsönhatás közérthetően

Deflazacort and Sorbitol can affect each other. The combination is often manageable, but it may need a change of dose, a change of timing, or extra checks while both are taken.

Deflazacort belongs to Miscellaneous; Sorbitol belongs to Gastrointestinal Tract.

Bizonyítékszint: Low

Miért jön létre

Additive potassium loss from osmotic diarrhea and corticosteroid mineralocorticoid-related kaliuresis.

Teendő

Monitor serum potassium if sorbitol is used repeatedly or in large amounts with deflazacort. Replace potassium as needed.
