Combining a tricyclic antidepressant with an MAO-B inhibitor has been associated with serious reactions including serotonin syndrome, hyperpyrexia and severe CNS toxicity. Labeling advises against concurrent use and separating the drugs by a washout period.

Imipramine and Rasagiline are not normally used together. Taking them at the same time is expected to cause harm or make one of them unsafe, so a different medicine is usually chosen for one of the two.
