Összefoglaló
Isocarboxazid irreversibly inhibits monoamine oxidase and naratriptan is a 5-HT1B/1D agonist. Both increase serotonergic or vasoconstrictor tone, so serotonin syndrome or hypertensive effects are possible, although naratriptan is not mainly cleared by MAO.
Mit jelent ez a kölcsönhatás közérthetően
Isocarboxazid and Naratriptan can interact in a way that may be serious. Using them together is sometimes necessary, but it needs a deliberate decision by the prescriber, a plan for monitoring, and clear advice on the warning signs to watch for.

Miért jön létre
Additive serotonergic and vasoconstrictor effects
Teendő
Avoid where possible; if used, give naratriptan at the lowest dose and monitor blood pressure and for serotonin toxicity.
