Összefoglaló

Primidone is metabolized to phenobarbital, which induces CYP3A4 and can lower ranolazine concentrations. Antianginal effect may be lost, and labeling contraindicates CYP3A inducers.

Mit jelent ez a kölcsönhatás közérthetően

Primidone and Ranolazine are not normally used together. Taking them at the same time is expected to cause harm or make one of them unsafe, so a different medicine is usually chosen for one of the two.

Primidone belongs to Central Nervous System; Ranolazine belongs to Cardiovascular.

Bizonyítékszint: Moderate

Miért jön létre

CYP3A4 induction by primidone and its metabolite phenobarbital, increasing ranolazine clearance.

Teendő

Avoid the combination and use another antianginal class.
