Per cosa si usa
Come agisce
Ethamsylate acts on the first step of hemostasis by improving platelet adhesiveness and restoring capillary resistance. Recent studies showed that ethamsylate promotes P-selectin-dependent, platelet adhesive mechanisms.
Dose abituale nell'adulto (sintesi del foglio illustrativo)
Pre-surgery: 500 mg 1 hour before
Gravidanza e allattamento
- Gravidanza
- Unknown No clinical data in pregnancy; animal studies showed no harm. National labels (Dicynone-type): avoid in the first trimester; in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters use only if the benefit outweighs the risk. For bleeding in pregnancy, find the cause first.
- Allattamento
- Safe Not known if it passes into milk. National labels advise against breastfeeding during treatment (stop one or the other), for lack of data. e-Lactancia: likely compatible, as high protein binding makes milk transfer unlikely; no infant harm reported.
