Per cosa si usa
Come agisce
Flumethasone is a synthetic difluorinated corticosteroid that binds intracellular glucocorticoid receptors. This alters gene transcription, inducing anti-inflammatory proteins such as lipocortins and suppressing pro-inflammatory cytokines and mediators.
Dose abituale nell'adulto (sintesi del foglio illustrativo)
Corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses (topical 0.02% cream/ointment): apply a thin layer to the affected skin 2 to 3 times daily. Reduce to once daily or stop as the condition improves.
Gravidanza e allattamento
- Gravidanza
- Safe Applies to skin creams and ear drops (often with clioquinol or salicylic acid). Little is absorbed. Topical steroids are acceptable in pregnancy; use the smallest amount for the shortest time and avoid large areas, occlusion or long use.
- Allattamento
- Safe Little is absorbed from skin or ear use, so milk levels are expected to be negligible; compatible. Do not apply to the nipple or breast; if needed there, wipe off before feeds and keep the infant's skin away from treated areas.
Effetti indesiderati segnalati
- Local burning, stinging or irritation
- Skin atrophy
- Striae
- Telangiectasia
- Hypopigmentation
- Folliculitis
Controindicazioni
- Hypersensitivity to flumethasone, other corticosteroids or any excipient.
- Untreated bacterial, fungal or viral skin infections, including herpes simplex, varicella and vaccinia.
- Cutaneous tuberculosis or syphilitic skin lesions.
Chi deve prestare attenzione
- Prolonged or extensive use, especially under occlusion, may cause systemic absorption with HPA-axis suppression and Cushingoid features.
- Children are more susceptible to systemic effects. Use the minimum amount for the shortest time and avoid occlusion, including tight nappies.
- Avoid prolonged use on the face, eyelids, flexures and genital areas because of the risk of skin atrophy.
