Per cosa si usa
Come agisce
Anti-inflammatory, antipruritic and vasoconstrictive topical corticosteroid. Anti-inflammatory action is unclear but is thought to involve induction of phospholipase A2 inhibitory proteins (lipocortins), which limit release of arachidonic acid and thus prostaglandin and leukotriene biosynthesis.
Dose abituale nell'adulto (sintesi del foglio illustrativo)
Scalp psoriasis (scalp oil): wet or dampen hair and scalp, apply a thin film topically to the scalp, massage well and cover with the supplied shower cap; leave on overnight or a minimum of 4 hours, then wash off with regular shampoo and rinse thoroughly
Gravidanza e allattamento
- Gravidanza
- Safe Applies to skin products, ear drops and eye implants. Little is absorbed. Topical steroids are acceptable in pregnancy: use the smallest amount on the smallest area for the shortest time; avoid occlusion. Eye implants give negligible blood levels.
- Allattamento
- Safe Topical use gives little absorption; LactMed: short-term use is unlikely to affect the infant, and ear drops or eye implants pose negligible risk. Do not apply to the nipple; if used on the breast, use a cream and wipe off before feeds.
Effetti indesiderati segnalati
- Burning
- Itching
- Irritation
- Dryness
- Folliculitis
- Acneiform eruptions
Controindicazioni
- History of hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation; the product contains refined peanut oil.
Chi deve prestare attenzione
- Systemic absorption can cause reversible HPA axis suppression, Cushing's syndrome, hyperglycemia and glucosuria; evaluate periodically patients using large areas or occlusion.
- Children may be more susceptible to systemic toxicity because of larger skin surface to body mass ratios.
- Contains 48% refined peanut oil; use caution in peanut-sensitive individuals.
