Both drugs prolong the QT interval. Together they increase the risk of torsades de pointes and sudden cardiac death.

Amiodarone and Droperidol are not normally used together. Taking them at the same time is expected to cause harm or make one of them unsafe, so a different medicine is usually chosen for one of the two.

Additive QT prolongation by blocking cardiac potassium channels.

Avoid the combination and use a non-QT-prolonging antiemetic or sedative. If unavoidable, monitor ECG and correct potassium and magnesium.
