Sintesi
Both agents are inhaled long-acting beta-2 agonists (indacaterol is one component of the combination), so using them together duplicates therapy and adds to beta-adrenergic cardiovascular effects. This can cause tachycardia, hypokalemia, QTc prolongation and arrhythmia.
Cosa significa questa interazione in parole semplici
Arformoterol and Indacaterol-glycopyrronium can interact in a way that may be serious. Using them together is sometimes necessary, but it needs a deliberate decision by the prescriber, a plan for monitoring, and clear advice on the warning signs to watch for.
Arformoterol belongs to Respiratory; Indacaterol-glycopyrronium belongs to Respiratory.
Perché avviene
Additive beta-2 adrenergic stimulation leading to hypokalemia, tachycardia and QT prolongation.
