概要
Cyclobenzaprine is structurally related to tricyclic antidepressants, and its labeling contraindicates use with or within 14 days of MAO inhibitors. Combining it with selegiline, an MAO inhibitor, can cause serotonin syndrome, hypertensive crisis, severe convulsions, and death.

Inhibition of MAO by selegiline combined with the serotonergic and noradrenergic reuptake effects of cyclobenzaprine leads to excess monoamine activity.

Avoid the combination and choose a non-serotonergic muscle relaxant. Allow a washout of at least 14 days after stopping an MAO inhibitor before starting cyclobenzaprine.
