Como funciona
Reboxetine is primarily used to treat depression but has also been found useful in the treatment of narcolepsy and panic disorders. Reboxetine is a selective inhibitor of noradrenaline reuptake. It inhibits noradrenaline reuptake in vitro to a similar extent to the tricyclic antidepressant desmethylimipramine.

The recommended therapeutic dose is 4 mg twice a day (b.i.d.) i.e.8 mg/day administered orally, maximum daily dose should not exceed 12 mg/day.

- Unknown No trial data; a very limited number of exposed pregnancies showed no adverse effects. Animal studies showed no harm apart from impaired growth in rat pups. Not approved in the US. UK label: use only if benefits outweigh risks; better-studied antidepressants are preferred.

- Unknown Passes into milk in low amounts; no adverse effects reported in breastfed infants (doses up to 10 mg daily). UK label: consider if benefits outweigh the risk. LactMed: use with careful infant monitoring. SSRIs such as sertraline have more data.

- The starting dose in patients with renal or hepatic insufficiency should be 2 mg b.i.d which can be increased based on patient tolerance.
