Gravidez e amamentação

Gravidez
Safe FDA warns that lengthy or repeated general anaesthesia in the 3rd trimester may affect fetal brain development. UK label: can be used in pregnancy without adverse effects (long caesarean use), but only when the benefit outweighs the risk; it crosses the placenta and may depress the newborn.
Amamentação
Safe Very small amounts pass into milk. UK label: suspend breastfeeding for at least 12 hours or express before induction. LactMed: no waiting period is needed; breastfeed once the mother is alert. With several anaesthetics, follow the most restrictive one; watch for sleepiness.
