Resumo
Cholestyramine binds mycophenolic acid and interrupts its enterohepatic recirculation, substantially lowering exposure. This may cause loss of immunosuppressive effect and graft rejection.
O que esta interação significa em palavras simples
Cholestyramine and Mycophenolic acid can interact in a way that may be serious. Using them together is sometimes necessary, but it needs a deliberate decision by the prescriber, a plan for monitoring, and clear advice on the warning signs to watch for.
Cholestyramine belongs to Cardiovascular; Mycophenolic acid belongs to Miscellaneous.
