Resumo
St John's wort can substantially lower nevirapine concentrations, which may lead to virologic failure and resistance. Nevirapine's resistance barrier is low.

Nevirapine and St john's wort are not normally used together. Taking them at the same time is expected to cause harm or make one of them unsafe, so a different medicine is usually chosen for one of the two.

St John's wort induces CYP3A4 and CYP2B6 and P-glycoprotein, increasing nevirapine clearance.
