Chloramphenicol can inhibit CYP3A4 and may increase conivaptan concentrations, raising the risk of overly rapid sodium correction and osmotic demyelination. Conivaptan is contraindicated with strong CYP3A inhibitors, but chloramphenicol's inhibition is less well characterized.
