Как действует
Bactericidal agent that acts by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis; active in the presence of some beta-lactamases.

Treatment of infections: 1 g or 2 g, intravenously or intramuscularly; dose and route determined by patient condition, severity and organism susceptibility

- Unknown No adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women; use only if clearly needed. Animal studies showed no harm to the fetus.

- Known allergy to the cephalosporin group of antibiotics
- History of cephalosporin associated hemolytic anemia
Кому следует соблюдать осторожность
- Check for previous hypersensitivity to cephalosporins, penicillins or other drugs; cross-hypersensitivity among beta-lactams may occur in up to 10% of penicillin-allergic patients. Discontinue if allergic reaction occurs.
- Immune mediated hemolytic anemia, including fatal cases, with at least 3 fold increased risk versus other cephalosporins; consider if anemia develops within 2 to 3 weeks after dosing, stop drug and monitor hematologic parameters.
- Clostridium difficile associated diarrhea may occur, even over two months after antibiotic use.
