MOHAP pharmacist exam (UAE): what is official and how to practise
MOHAP does not publish the format of its pharmacist exam that we could find. This page states what is confirmed and what is not, then shows how MediHelp practice works and what it costs.
Short answer
MOHAP licenses pharmacists at the UAE federal level, and the pharmacist exam is delivered by Prometric. We could not find MOHAP publishing the exam format, so MediHelp does not quote a question count or pass mark. Attempts are limited across all UAE authorities combined.
Official exam facts
Taken from our licence guide, checked against the official sources listed below. Where an official figure could not be confirmed, the page says so instead of guessing.
The MOHAP exam
The pharmacist exam format is not published by MOHAP that we could find. Prometric delivers it and, according to a search summary of its MOHAP page, shows the booking rules there.
A vendor blog from 2023 gives a pass mark of 60% and a Prometric fee of USD 130. A consultancy says vendors quote 50% to 70% and that MOHAP publishes none. Treat both as unconfirmed.
Attempts: DHA's licensing manual counts 3 failed attempts across all UAE authorities and allows a fourth only with permission (clauses 5.26 and 7.3). The unified PQR (3rd version, April 2025, clauses 1.5.4 to 1.5.6) sets the same shared limit across DHA, DOH, MOHAP and SHA, with one last attempt in another authority. Prometric's page limits scheduling attempts to 3 (search summary).
A consultancy says MOHAP does not accept other authorities' exam results, but MOHAP's evaluation page (search summary) mentions sitting the exam through DHA or DOH and an Instant Transfer service for a valid license from another authority. Ask MOHAP before you rely on a DHA or DOH pass or license.
An eligibility number is reported to be valid for about 15 days (consultancy, unconfirmed): book promptly.

How MediHelp exam prep works
Practise by topic, difficulty or weak spots. Choose a module, a difficulty or let the app pick the topics you get wrong most.
Sit timed mock exams. Timed mocks of 25 to 150 questions, so the pace feels familiar before the real exam.
Learn from every explanation. Each question explains why the right option is right and why the others are wrong, with public references you can open.
Review what you forget. A spaced-repetition review queue brings back the questions you missed or flagged.
Track progress, study offline. See topic mastery and results. Modules you bought also work offline.
What the question bank covers
Eight topic modules built on the DHA content areas, the only published UAE pharmacist outline. MOHAP publishes none of its own, and the UAE authorities share licensing rules. The page does not claim a MOHAP blueprint.
Single-best-answer questions in the style of the UAE pharmacist exams, with timed mocks.

Free sample questions
These are original practice questions from the free sample set. Each shows the answer, an explanation and public references.
1. A 63-year-old woman with a mechanical mitral valve is stable on warfarin with INRs in range. She asks whether she must stop eating green leafy vegetables such as spinach and molokhia. What is the best advice?
Avoid all green leafy vegetables completely for as long as she takes warfarin
Take a daily vitamin K supplement so that diet no longer affects her INR
Eat extra green vegetables daily to protect against warfarin-related bleeding
Keep vitamin K intake fairly consistent from week to week rather than avoid it
Correct answer
D. Keep vitamin K intake fairly consistent from week to week rather than avoid it
Vitamin K antagonises warfarin, so large changes in intake destabilise the INR; patients are advised to maintain a consistent, normal diet rather than eliminate vitamin K-rich foods. Complete avoidance is unnecessary and can make the INR more sensitive to small dietary changes. Deliberately increasing intake or starting supplements without medical supervision would lower the INR and risk valve thrombosis.
2. A 52-year-old man with type 2 diabetes and a positive interferon-gamma release assay is starting isoniazid 300 mg daily for latent tuberculosis infection. He drinks alcohol most days. Which supplement should be co-prescribed to reduce his risk of the signature neurological adverse effect of isoniazid?
Thiamine (vitamin B1)
Folic acid (vitamin B9)
Pyridoxine (vitamin B6)
Cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12)
Correct answer
C. Pyridoxine (vitamin B6)
Isoniazid interferes with pyridoxine metabolism by forming hydrazones with pyridoxal and increasing its urinary excretion. The resulting functional B6 deficiency causes dose-related peripheral neuropathy. Patients with diabetes, alcohol use, malnutrition, HIV, pregnancy or renal failure are at higher risk, and the isoniazid label recommends pyridoxine for them. Thiamine is often given in alcohol use disorder, but it does not prevent isoniazid neuropathy.
3. A formulation scientist is developing an oral tablet of a new BCS Class II drug (low aqueous solubility, high permeability). In a pilot study, absorption is slow and erratic, and dissolution is identified as the rate-limiting step. Which formulation change is most likely to increase the rate of absorption?
Micronising the drug to increase its surface area
Increasing the compression force during tableting
Using a larger crystal size of the same polymorph
Adding a permeation enhancer to the tablet core
Correct answer
A. Micronising the drug to increase its surface area
For a BCS Class II drug, absorption is limited by dissolution, not by membrane permeation. By the Noyes-Whitney equation, dissolution rate is proportional to the surface area exposed to the medium. Micronisation increases surface area and so increases the dissolution rate. A permeation enhancer will not help, because permeability is already high. Higher compression force and larger crystals both reduce the effective surface area and slow dissolution.

Frequently asked questions
What is the MOHAP pharmacist exam format?
MOHAP does not publish it on any page we could read. Vendor blogs quote pass marks between 50% and 70%, which are unconfirmed. Ask MOHAP or check the Prometric page for current details.
How many attempts do I get?
The unified Professional Qualification Requirements (3rd version, April 2025) set a shared limit of three attempts across DHA, DOH, MOHAP and SHA, with one last attempt at another authority. The DHA licensing manual states the same shared count.
Can I use a DHA or DOH result for MOHAP?
MOHAP's evaluation page mentions sitting the exam through DHA or DOH and a transfer service for a valid licence from another authority. A consultancy says otherwise, so ask MOHAP before you rely on either.
Is the MOHAP bank different from the DHA bank?
Yes. MediHelp has a separate bank for each Gulf authority. Some UAE topics overlap, because the authorities share licensing rules.
Are these real exam questions?
No. All MediHelp questions are original practice questions written to match the published blueprint and style. We never use leaked or recalled exam content.
Can I try it before I buy?
Yes. Every exam bank has free sample questions with answers and explanations.
Is it a subscription?
No. A question bank is a one-time purchase with nothing to renew. Gulf banks are not part of plain Pro+; they are sold as a bank, or inside the Pro+ yearly bundles.
