Summary

At analgesic or anti-inflammatory doses, aspirin can reduce the antihypertensive effect of benazepril and impair renal function, particularly in volume-depleted or elderly patients. Low-dose cardioprotective aspirin generally has little effect.

What this interaction means in plain words

Amlodipine-benazepril and Aspirin can affect each other. The combination is often manageable, but it may need a change of dose, a change of timing, or extra checks while both are taken.

Evidence level: Moderate

Why it happens

Inhibition of vasodilatory renal prostaglandin synthesis opposes ACE inhibitor effects and reduces renal perfusion.

What to do

Monitor blood pressure and renal function when higher aspirin doses are used; low-dose aspirin for cardiovascular prevention can usually continue.
