Bisoprolol/Hydrochlorothiazide + Candesartan
For healthcare professionals — reference only. This page is a brief summary, not medical advice and not a substitute for official labeling or clinical judgement. Always verify before prescribing or dispensing.
Overview
Additive antihypertensive effects with potential for first-dose hypotension; ARB may affect renal function and potassium, while hydrochlorothiazide lowers potassium—net potassium effect may be unpredictable.
Mechanism of action
Pharmacodynamic additive BP lowering (beta-blockade/diuresis plus RAAS blockade); ARB-associated efferent arteriolar dilation may reduce GFR, especially if volume depleted.
Clinical management
Check BP, serum creatinine, and potassium at baseline and within 1–2 weeks after initiation or dose changes; adjust doses as needed; counsel on orthostasis.
