What this interaction means in plain words
Canagliflozin-metformin and Enalapril can affect each other. The combination is often manageable, but it may need a change of dose, a change of timing, or extra checks while both are taken.
Canagliflozin-metformin belongs to Endocrine; Enalapril belongs to Cardiovascular.
Why it happens
ACE inhibition improves insulin sensitivity, and combined diuretic-like effects with canagliflozin can reduce renal perfusion.
What to do
Monitor blood glucose, blood pressure, renal function and potassium after starting or adjusting therapy. Hold the drugs during dehydrating illness.
