Summary

Ublituximab depletes B cells and increases infection susceptibility, including opportunistic viral infections. Ganciclovir does not lose potency, but it is used in patients in whom immunosuppression raises the risk of CMV disease. Ganciclovir myelosuppression may also add to cytopenias seen with anti-CD20 therapy.

What this interaction means in plain words

Ganciclovir and Ublituximab can affect each other. The combination is often manageable, but it may need a change of dose, a change of timing, or extra checks while both are taken.

Ganciclovir belongs to Anti Virals; Ublituximab belongs to Miscellaneous.

Evidence level: Low

Why it happens

Additive pharmacodynamic effects: immunosuppression from B-cell depletion plus possible overlapping neutropenia; no pharmacokinetic interaction.
