Summary
Combining neprilysin inhibition with an ACE inhibitor greatly increases bradykinin-mediated angioedema risk, which can involve the airway. The combination is contraindicated.
What this interaction means in plain words
Sacubitril-valsartan and Trandolapril are not normally used together. Taking them at the same time is expected to cause harm or make one of them unsafe, so a different medicine is usually chosen for one of the two.

Why it happens
Both neprilysin and ACE degrade bradykinin; inhibiting both increases bradykinin levels.
What to do
Never coadminister; allow a 36-hour washout between the last ACE inhibitor dose and the first sacubitril/valsartan dose, and vice versa.
