UAE MOHAP pharmacist license: evaluation, DataFlow and Prometric

MOHAP evaluation, DataFlow, the Prometric exam and the employer-filed license, with what is unconfirmed.

  • 8 steps

Step by step

  1. Prepare

    Check the qualification requirements

MOHAP says foreign graduates must show clinical experience and a valid professional license from outside the UAE in the same specialty, and that the qualification must be recognised under the Unified Qualification Requirements (PQR) (MOHAP evaluation page, search summary). A DataFlow blog from 2023 gives a pharmacy degree, at least 2 years of experience and no work gap over 2 years.

  2. Apply

Find the pharmacist route on the evaluation page

The MOHAP evaluation page lists fees for physicians, nurses and allied health, and tells pharmacists to use a separate link for the pharmacist evaluation, which it says does not go through the Evaluation System. We could not identify where that link goes.

  3. Apply

Submit the evaluation application and pay

For health professionals in general, MOHAP's steps are: log in with UAE PASS, submit the online application under the Healthcare Professionals category, attach all documents (including any earlier DataFlow report and exam-exemption documents) and pay before submitting. Service time is 5 working days.

  4. Apply

Pay for and complete the DataFlow verification

MOHAP sends you to DataFlow for primary source verification. DataFlow's MOHAP page lets you choose Apply Now from the MOHAP portal, a new application, a transfer of an old report, or a status check.

  5. Exams

Book the Prometric exam with your eligibility number

Prometric hosts a MOHAP page (UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention). To schedule you need your MOHAP eligibility number and one valid government photo ID with a signature, or your passport if you test outside your country of citizenship.

  6. Exams

Sit the exam and receive the evaluation certificate

MOHAP does not publish the pharmacist exam's question count, duration or pass mark that we could find. Vendor figures of 100 to 150 questions and 2 to 3 hours are unconfirmed.

  7. License

Your employer files the license application

The pharmacist license service is applied for by the facility for its pharmacy staff. MOHAP lists 5 working days, an AED 100 application fee and an AED 1,000 license fee, paid electronically (licensing of pharmacists, search summary).

  8. License

    Renew on time

MOHAP's renewal service for pharmacists takes 3 working days, costs the same AED 100 plus AED 1,000, and uses UAE PASS. Applicants aged 60 or over need an EHS medical fitness certificate (renewal service, search summary).

Frequently asked questions

Which emirates does MOHAP cover?

A consultancy summary lists Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Fujairah and parts of Ras Al Khaimah. Dubai is DHA, Abu Dhabi is DOH and Sharjah is SHA. Confirm your emirate with the authority.

Can my employer license me before I pass the exam?

Not without an evaluation certificate. A DataFlow blog lists a valid assessment certificate among the license documents, and the facility files the license after the evaluation.

Is MOHAP the same exam as DHA?

Not necessarily. A consultancy says each authority runs its own exam, but MOHAP's evaluation page (search summary) mentions sitting the exam through DHA or DOH. The 3-attempt limit is shared across UAE authorities. Ask MOHAP which route applies to you.

Do I need the Emirates Drug Establishment?

No. It deals with medicines and establishments, not pharmacist licenses, according to secondary sources.
