Non-depolarizing skeletal muscle relaxant; cholinergic receptor antagonist

General Anesthesia (Injection) Load: 0.08-0.1 mg/kg IVP over 60 sec OR 0.04-0.06 mg/kg IVP if following succinylcholine, PLUS Maintenance: 0.01-0.015 mg/kg IVP 20-45min post initial PRN

Safe Used during general anaesthesia, including caesarean section; it crosses the placenta only in small amounts. No animal reproduction studies. US label: use only if clearly needed. Magnesium sulphate can prolong its effect. Acceptable for anaesthesia when needed.
شیردهی
Safe No milk data, but it is short acting, highly polar and poorly absorbed by mouth, so little reaches milk or the infant (LactMed). Breastfeed once the mother has recovered; with several anaesthetic drugs, follow the most restrictive one.
