خلاصه
Citalopram raises synaptic serotonin by blocking reuptake, and isocarboxazid (an irreversible non-selective MAO inhibitor) prevents its breakdown. Serotonin syndrome with agitation, hyperthermia, clonus and autonomic instability can develop, sometimes fatally.

Citalopram and Isocarboxazid are not normally used together. Taking them at the same time is expected to cause harm or make one of them unsafe, so a different medicine is usually chosen for one of the two.
