Résumé
Both drugs injure the kidney, and their combined use can cause acute kidney injury. Cidofovir carries a boxed warning for renal toxicity and its labeling prohibits concomitant nephrotoxic agents.

Amphotericin b deoxycholate and Cidofovir are not normally used together. Taking them at the same time is expected to cause harm or make one of them unsafe, so a different medicine is usually chosen for one of the two.

Additive nephrotoxicity: cidofovir causes proximal tubular injury and amphotericin B causes tubular toxicity and renal vasoconstriction.
Conduite à tenir
Do not use together; stop amphotericin at least 7 days before cidofovir where possible and choose an alternative agent. Monitor serum creatinine and urine protein before each cidofovir dose.
